Gayle Carline

Gayle Carline spent almost 30 years as a software engineer until she chewed her way out of the cubicle to become a writer. In 2005, she began writing a humor column for her local newspaper, the Placentia News-Times, entertaining readers with stories of her life with Dale and their son, Marcus. In 2009, she published her first mystery novel, Freezer Burn, with Echelon Press. In 2011, she published What Would Erma Do, a humorous memoir about getting the newspaper job, woven in with some of her readers’ favorite columns. Her latest, Hit or Missus, is another mystery starring her favorite housecleaner-turned-detective, Peri Minneopa, who is up to her elbows in hot water, as usual.

In her spare time, Gayle likes to sit down with friends and laugh over a glass of wine. And maybe plot a little murder and mayhem.
