To think he had the strength and determination to rise above that kind of childhood to succeed as he has is truly inspirational! Thanks for sharing that info about him, and the others.Jodie Rennerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17180607353893233389noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4954486699810607306.post-67806556493906182922013-03-14T12:04:04.707-07:002013-03-14T12:04:04.707-07:00To be honest, I know very little about the persona...To be honest, I know very little about the personal lives of any famous authors. I do have a photo myself and Jeff Deavers on my digital frame though. I enjoyed meeting him—he's very funny—but I don't know anything about his childhood or background or have any reason to admire him other than that he's written some good books.

I think it's wonderful that you've had the opportunity to feel a connection to such a varied group.

Peg Brantleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04906858123466177508noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4954486699810607306.post-27824940958554527322013-03-14T09:32:49.648-07:002013-03-14T09:32:49.648-07:00While not a fan of Koontz, it is an inspiring stor...While not a fan of Koontz, it is an inspiring story, and what a thrill for you to meet him, Gayle.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4954486699810607306.post-3319259741847812162013-03-14T06:38:26.362-07:002013-03-14T06:38:26.362-07:00Thanks for an enjoyable post, Gayle. Stephen King comes to mind because he conquered some serious addictions midlife and had the courage to keep writing even though he feared he'd lost his muse.

I'm currently looking for a famous guest of honor for the 2015 Left Coast Crime, and I'm open to suggestions.
